WhatsApp Announces New E-commerce Instruments

Users will be able to shop directly in chats

WhatsApp is expanding its e-commerce features in its business application, according to the platform’s official blog. Now in the messenger you can not only view products, but also add them to the cart, pay for the purchase and track orders.

The service will develop a “Buy” button, which will transfer the user from the seller to WhatsApp-chat, writes TechCrunch. Stores will be able to integrate this feature into their resources.

In addition, the company will expand the ability to view directories in chats. So far, WhatsApp allows you to share only QR codes and medicines in the application.

WhatsApp also plans to provide sellers with access to its own hosting service. The company says it is currently in talks with partners to help make hosting affordable. According to TechCrunch, the service will be operational within a few months.

The expansion of the functionality of WhatsApp Business will lead to the fact that certain services in it will be paid. Details are not yet reported. But it is known that payment will be associated with sending messages from sellers, writes TechCrunch.
